1 Tin of chopped tomatoes
Half a carton of pasata
2 Garlic Cloves
2 chunkcs of carrot
Salt and Pepper
Olive Oil
1 big handful of basil

- Put the oil on a low heat and slowly brown the garlic
- Add the tomatoes and pasata
- Add the carrot
- Salt and pepper
- Add half of the basil ripped up by hand
- Cook the sauce on a very very low heat for 1hour
- Taste the sauce and season with salt/ pepper if needed
- Add the last of the basil ripped up by hand
- Cook for a few minutes
- Serve with any type of pasta
- Sauce can be used as a base to ragu, lasagne or any dish with a tomato sauce.
