Chilli con carne on spaghetti






1 sachet Schwartz Chilli con Carne Recipe Mix
450g (1lb) extra lean beef mince
400g tin chopped tomatoes
400g tin red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
125ml (4fl oz) water
1 chopped onion
Drizzle of olive oil
Salt + Pepper
Glug of Worcester sauce

  1. Chop onion finely and then sweat in a pan with the oil
  2. Then add the mince beef and brown for 4-5 minutes. 
  3. Add the sachet of Schwartz chilli mix, tomatoes, kidney beans and water.  
  4. Bring to the boil, stirring.
  5. Taste and add salt, pepper and  worcester sauce as needed
  6. Cover and simmer gently for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Boil some spaghetti
  8. Mix the two together and serve

Italian Tomato Basil Sauce




1 Tin of chopped tomatoes
Half a carton of pasata
2 Garlic Cloves
2 chunkcs of carrot
Salt and Pepper
Olive Oil
1 big handful of basil

  1. Put the oil on a low heat and slowly brown the garlic
  2. Add the tomatoes and  pasata
  3. Add the carrot
  4. Salt and pepper
  5. Add half of the basil ripped up by hand
  6. Cook the sauce on a very very low heat for 1hour
  7. Taste the sauce and season with salt/ pepper if needed
  8. Add the last of the basil ripped up by hand
  9. Cook for a few minutes
  10. Serve with any type of pasta
  11. Sauce can be used as a base to ragu, lasagne or any dish with a tomato sauce.
